1. Overview
Neuralama (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is an AI-discoverability platform for Shopify. It audits a merchant's storefront, scores how legible that store is to AI search and shopping agents, and recommends fixes. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the Neuralama Shopify app and the Neuralama web dashboard.
2. Data we collect
Neuralama is designed to touch as little data as possible. We collect:
- Store & account information. Your
.myshopify.comdomain, the Shopify-issued access token used to call the Admin API on your behalf, and—if you use the Neuralama web dashboard or agency features—the name, email address, and organization membership you provide when you create an account or accept a team invitation. - Storefront content we scan. To calculate your AI Readiness Score we read your published catalog and store configuration through Shopify's APIs and your public storefront: product titles, descriptions, SEO fields, product IDs, and structured-data /
robots.txt/sitemap.xmlsettings. We store the resulting scores, findings, and recommendations. For change detection we keep a one-way hash of product content, not a second copy of the content itself. - Subscription status. Your current plan and billing status, as reported to us by Shopify. We never see or store your payment-card details—all billing is handled by Shopify.
- Usage & diagnostic data. Product-analytics and error-monitoring events (for example, which dashboard views are used and stack traces when something breaks) so we can keep the app working and improve it.
What we do not collect. Neuralama does not collect your shoppers' personal information. We do not read order data, customer records, or checkout data, and we do not place a tracking pixel on your storefront. Our analysis is about your store's content and configuration, not the people who visit it.
3. How we use your data
We use the data above only to run and improve Neuralama: to compute your AI Readiness Score, generate prioritized recommendations, monitor your store over time, send the reports and alerts you opt into, and diagnose problems. Your catalog analysis is performed by our own deterministic, rule-based scanner inside our infrastructure. We do not send your product data to third-party AI or large-language models, and we do not use your data to train any AI model.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We rely on a small set of vetted service providers (“subprocessors”) that process data solely to deliver Neuralama on our behalf:
- Railway — application hosting and our PostgreSQL database.
- Resend — delivery of digest and alert emails.
- PostHog — product analytics.
- Sentry — error and performance monitoring.
We may also disclose data where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Neuralama, our merchants, or the public.
5. Data retention & deletion
We retain your store data for as long as Neuralama is installed. When you uninstall the app, we mark your store inactive and delete its Shopify session credentials immediately; remaining store-specific scan data is queued for deletion. We honor Shopify's mandatory data-erasure requests (shop/redact, customers/redact) and data-access requests (customers/data_request). Because we do not store shopper personal data, customer-level requests generally have no personal data to return or erase.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you are located (including the EEA, UK, and California), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@neuralama.com. You can also delete most data at any time by uninstalling the app.
7. Security
All traffic to Neuralama is encrypted in transit over TLS. Incoming Shopify webhooks are verified with HMAC signatures before they are processed, and access tokens are stored server-side and never exposed to the browser.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Neuralama evolves. When we make material changes we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by email.
